WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK, EXACTLY?

 

It probably comes as no surprise, but your brain is kind of a big deal! As the command center of the body, it’s constantly working behind the scenes, helping you sleep, manage stress, make decisions, move, focus, regulate, communicate, and navigate everyday life. 

What is neurofeedback

 It controls everything from what you cook for dinner to what you watch on Netflix to how you make life-changing decisions. This is why neurofeedback is highly effective. So . . . what is neurofeedback, and how does it help your brain? 


Neurofeedback recognizes that just because the brain is a big deal, it can still get off balance. When the brain gets dysregulated, the body responds. You may notice that you feel on edge, overly annoyed by minor inconveniences, or nervous about things you normally wouldn’t fear. You may have difficulty focusing at work or school, find yourself tossing and turning at night, or experience mood changes and a sense of being stuck. 


Neurofeedback is a type of training that helps the brain self-regulate through real-time information that speaks directly to the central nervous system, giving your brain the feedback it needs to self-optimize.
